Enriching students lives with a ready literacy room is important to create good readers. Students are encouraged to read all types of genres and adding the Scholastic Classroom Magazine to our classroom will enable the students to learn more about magazines, layouts, current events, answer comprehension questions and so much more. Realizing that literature comes in many forms will give students a better understanding of the importance of learning to read. Students will be given the opportunity to work whole group, small group, with partners and independently with a classroom set of Scholastic News Magazines. This resource is a valuable tool that I have seen excite reluctant readers. They look forward to the weekly magazines, reading it, answering questions and finally being able to take the magazine home.
