Over the past three weeks, I have observed my students doing their most successful work while sitting on the floor, standing, and in nontraditional seats. I have a very active and energetic group of students who, similar to myself, find the hard, plastic chairs uncomfortable and sometimes distracting to their work. In their previous classes,my students have had many flexible seating options. I have seen the benefits of flexible seating and would like to be able to provide those options in my classroom. Flexible seating makes students more engaged and allows students to choose how they work best to succeed in school.
