Young students often have trouble maintaining attention to lessons when required to simply sit in their desks and take in information. By providing my students with choices for their learning environment, such as the yoga ball chairs, wobble chairs, and lap desks, I know they will be getting the stimulation they each individually need to be successful and engaged in learning. We've all heard it said, "Students DO NOT all learn the same way." So, why is it that we think that they all can learn by sitting at their desks in the same way? I know it is my job to seek out the needs of each of my students, and to help provide them with opportunities to try out new, exciting, and beneficial options for classroom seating arrangements.
