Hello! My classrooms are dynamic and energetic spaces where students take ownership of their learning through self-directed learning projects. In Social Studies, we analyze history through the lenses of our own cultural heritages, and draw connections between events in the past and the current political climate. In Language Arts, students direct themselves towards writing projects that intrigue them, such as letters to the incoming president, stories about favorite holiday foods (with recipes so the reader can recreate it), and poems of love, frustration and protest.
