I am requesting at least two Samsung 11.6" chromebooks to be used in my classroom for several reasons. In our district, 30 chromebooks are shared by grades 5-8 which is 91 students. These chromebooks are stored in a tower in a central location where they have to be signed out ahead of time in order to be used. Because of the number of students sharing them, my class has limited use of the chromebooks. Having at least two chromebooks in our own classroom would allow students to work on their writing projects more consistently each week. Because of the low socioeconomic status of our school population, many students do not have access to technology at home. Therefore, having access to this technology is so important in their school environment.
