As the school counselor, I teach school counseling lessons to 4K through 5th graders. Our school is a Title 1 school and our students have very diverse backgrounds. Many of our students come from single parent families and/or they are being raised by a relative or guardian. In my classroom, we talk about a variety of topics and we practice the skills I am teaching. Flexible seating has been a great addition to my room by allowing students of all shapes and sizes to sit comfortably and remain focused and on task. As I strive to teach my students important life skills, I incorporate many activities into my lessons to help teach them the soft skills that are necessary for being successful in the workplace. Having flexible seating allows for comfort and flexibility to allow me more variety in the activities that I use with them.
