I work at a Title 1 school and my students face challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Despite these struggles, I have never had a group of students with such an eagerness and willingness to learn. At school we focus on personalizing education in order to increase student motivation. My school works hard to create a community atmosphere while taking a Trauma-Informed approach in daily instruction. Students are learning daily how to self-regulate behavior in order to improve their academic performance. The students set goals and learn how to work towards those goals in a safe and stable learning environment. Through building relationships with the families and children, I have learned that these second graders have the attitude and ability needed to work hard everyday to be successful. The students at my school are resilient and amazing!!!
