I am requesting lap desks, yoga mats, bean bag chairs, stability balls and stools to provide my scholars with flexible seating during our reading block. Active and engaged instruction will be taking place on a daily basis in my room. A.C.T- access, choice and time are my primary goals as we explore various genres, authors and literary works. When you walk into my class, you should see them lying on the floor, sitting on the stability balls or stools and even standing while reading- whatever makes them comfortable. Flexible seating will provide my scholars the environment in which they will thrive. By allowing for choice seating during reading, the scholars are learning to take responsibility for choosing the right work space.
