Unlike our team, the shoes my wrestlers wear are literally falling apart. New shoes will make my students feel proud. Matching shoes would help them feel even more like a team. They will feel like they are special and that they are being rewarded. When you feel good about what you are doing and see progression, there is a chance you will stick around. When kids stick around, we tend to rub off on them. I have multiple students that only come to school for their team/family. My students work hard to remain eligible and not let their coach and teammates down. To remain eligible they must attend school regularly and be passing all of their classes. The cool thing is that at the end of the day, the shoes could be the avenue that can aid in my ultimate goal for my wrestlers. My goal is that they all GRADUATE with true hope, and character.
