Flexible seating empowers students to take ownership of their learning and choose what best suits them. When my students work independently, they can choose many ways to sit and different locations to do so. Some sit on the floor with whiteboards, some sit at tables, some lie on the floor, and some even stand and lean against a table. When students are comfortable, they are able to focus on learning. It can be very difficult for a student that needs constant movement to sit still. My students work better and are happier when they can freely choose what is best for them, and most of the time they choose wisely! My students are much more focused and less apt to interrupt anyone else's learning when they make the choice of where to sit. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at desk/higher tables but will still allow some movement. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. The wobble stools allow my students to move around without losing focus or disrupting others. Being able to choose their own seats may sound simple, but for kids without a lot of choices in life, it is very meaningful and empowering.
