In a world that is increasingly centered around technology, it is essential that my students be exposed to as many forms of learning as possible. With iPads, the educational possibilities are endless. Reading comes easily to some students, but for many of the students in my class, reading proves to be a big challenge. They are missing many of the foundation skills they need to make up for the lost time they have already experienced in their short time in school. With iPads, my students will be able to use apps that help them practice sight words, learn new phonics rules, and listen to and practice with recorded reading passages. The apps are highly engaging for the students and faster motivation to learn these skills at a critical point in their development. Students are also able to use the iPads in math because of apps that allow them to practice their fluency, and work with concepts like place value and geometry.
