The best way to learn is to do! I am doing my very best to provide all of my students with a hands-on learning experience to master standards and content. I also feel that these experiences will prepare them for their middle school and high school curriculum. These students are so appreciative of any hands-on experience or lab in the classroom. They light up when they realize that it is a "lab day" in my class. Pan balances and triple beam balance will give them the opportunity to measure mass themselves. If we do not have the balances, we only have pictures of balances to learn from. The hot plate will allow them to learn more about states of matter and solutions. Having a safe hot plate allows them to see first-hand how the states of matter change from a solid to a liquid and then to a gas. This also lets students separate solutions, such as salt and water. The hot hands will protect their hands from the hot materials in class. They get so much more from learning from doing, instead of reading about it from a book. We would be so appreciative of any support you would be willing to give to our class. Thank you!!
