A classroom collection of this book will help me to integrate the important stories of indigenous history throughout the school year. I teach early U.S. history and as most people know, textbooks fail to properly or fully address how indigenous history shaped U.S.history. Most often, students are presented with events from European perspectives. The complexities of indigenous societies, trade routes, and cities are often untold, which leaves important pieces of American history untold. We can't fully understand the major events in U.S. history without understanding indigenous peoples' history. By donating to this project, you'd be helping me add a quality resource to my classroom, one that is relevant, especially in these times.
