Movement is naturally going to be a part of our Kindergarten classroom. My goal has always been to try to embrace this, and allow for students to 'wiggle' as needed, wanting the focus to be on their learning - not just trying to sit still! The Hokki stool provides the perfect opportunity for a student to be wiggling while sitting, encourages movement in all directions, improving posture and balance, and all the while the student is able to be actively engaged in their learning. Hokki stools are backless stools with a curved bottoms. This seating option forces students to sit upright, strengthening their core, allowing students to wiggle and move their bodies while sitting at their desks. My goal is to eventually have enough Hokki stools so that all of my students who need some wiggle time will have one to use.
