Teaching for 20 years has taught me - the best way to get kids reading is by surrounding them with exciting and engaging books! Dinosaurs, planets, hurricanes, Captain Underpants, Horrible Harry! These are the books that get kids excitedly talking, asking questions, and becoming life long learners. You will have them hooked on books! It's my responsibility to get books in their hands that reflect their interests. I have already been contacting libraries and posting on parent websites to try to get donations of books, not only for my classroom but for other classes in my school. The dusty, falling apart, sparse group of books I found in my room will inspire no one. Please help me to create a dream library for the first day of school! I'm asking for your help in providing books that will be interesting and that will meet the educational needs of my students. Thank you so much!
