Based on the needs of my students, they will use these resources to help them meet their individual education plan goals and to decrease their academic deficits. Many of my students are lacking basic foundational skills, such as sight words and fluency, which hinders their comprehension skills. Because they are so young, it is very important to hit these skills now before they are reading to learn instead of learning to read. My school does a wonderful job of creating a large reading block for skills to be taught and retaught, but many of my students need remediation and re-teaching outside of the classroom. With these materials I will be able to help them in my resource room, as well as in their classrooms, to push them towards meeting their academic reading goals.
