My students need a cozy space for calming their bodies and brains when they are upset. These materials I have listed will provide a space specifically for calming down, and taking a quiet and safe break during difficult times of their day. Beanbag chairs and pillows provide sensory input if my student needs that in the moment. The light covers and lamps offer low sensory input for those sensitive to light. The books will offer a chance to read while they calm their bodies down (and we can never have enough books). My students will have access to this space whenever they need it, and they will know that this space is used as a safe place to calm down and relax.
