Fifth grade students are required to observe and identify cell organelles. Students will be engaged in observing plant and animal cell organelles. They will study the cell and identify its structures and the functions of these structures. Having microscopes will provide students with hands-on engaging opportunities to view cells and their structures. Having the microscopes in the classroom will allow students the opportunity to conduct an investigation, make observations, collect data, make comparisons, and use this information to make inferences and valid conclusions. Working in collaborative groups, students will use the microscopes, analyzing and studying the various cells. Students will be able to construct and label diagrams of the cell organelles.
