I can't begin to count the number of parents who have asked me during conferences, "Why don't you teach cursive writing?" I also can't begin to count the number of students who want to learn cursive writing, and who can't read cursive writing! This lost art is something worth saving, and there doesn't seem to be a push for it in the curriculum. Our world revolves around computers, texting and video games! What a nice break from the technological world, to learn how to correctly form cursive letters, read words written in cursive, using only 2 items: a pen and a piece of paper. These items will help students practice cursive writing, allowing for neat erasing and multiple attempts at their own pace.
