I am always striving to develop more engaging learning experiences for my students. They will significantly benefit from these materials that will foster multicultural awareness in my classroom through literacy, music, and language rich play. Each day our students participate in literacy and play activities, and these materials can help expand their vocabulary, and improve their communication skills through dramatic play and small group games and activities. The book sets can be utilized during read alouds to help build early literacy skills, and the theme boxes and viewer sets can enable students to explore and discover more about each culture. The multicultural music CDs and instruments from around the world can promote more music and movement activities. I can envision each of my students utilizing these language rich materials throughout the classroom. I can picture them playing with instruments from around the world while listening to the multicultural CDs. I can see them sitting in a small group working together to put the puzzle pieces together, building their communication skills. I can also picture some of my students playing with puppets, block play people, dressing up, and playing with the food pieces from cultures around the world after learning about each cuisine. These materials can be used throughout the day during literacy and play activities in order to help develop my students' communication skills, as well as enable them to learn new vocabulary while exploring and gaining new cultural experiences inside a classroom.
