When I first started teaching, my students remained in their desks for most of the day. This past year I decided to let my students try choosing a successful spot around our room to work. My students absolutely LOVED having this choice and it completely transformed my classroom. My students were able to explore different seating options beyond their desk and chair. The only problem is I had students who had difficulty building stamina because they needed to be more active while working. About halfway through the year my students began asking for other seating options and complaining that they were uncomfortable while working. My students and I brainstormed what kind of seating they would like to have, and seating that allowed them to move was at the top of their list. The Hokki stools will provide them with another seating option that I know will increase engagement and help my students stay active!
