The students in my classroom have a range of unique learning needs; one student may be working on a different set of skills than the peer sitting at the desk next to them. As a result, all of the materials I create for my students are differentiated based on individual development and incorporation of grade-level topics. By donating to this project, you will provide my classroom with the resources needed to develop individualized resources for my incredible students. This includes their daily schedules, direct instruction materials, visual resources (students with autism are visual learners- it is their first language!!), interactive activities, and more! My students most effectively learn with repeated practice of skills, so I laminate nearly everything I present to my students. For every topic, I use interactive adapted books that I bind and add Velcro to emphasize vocabulary development by matching pictures and words within books. My students respond very well to these structured and visually clear resources. Additionally, I create a range of visuals to support my students' learning (e.g. cue cards with a pictorial representation of a verbal cue, such as "sit down") and allow my students to become independent learners with a structured routine and use of individualized visual schedules. There are several resources needed to provide my students with a rich range of learning materials, which support their development and growth as individuals. Your donation will allow me to create a larger range of materials for each child in my classroom, which will enhance and improve each student's learning experience.
