Interactive read-alouds will allow our teachers to model research-based, best practices with quality texts that will address all South Carolina State Standards. Teachers will be able to read the text, provide students access to the text, and model how to think. Teachers will be able to model thinking aloud and use text for shared reading to teach students how to become critical thinkers and readers. These texts will take our students on a journey to learn how to efficiently process texts within a literacy-rich environment with a multifaceted approach as they become independent readers and critical thinkers. Students will hear quality-written work through read alouds and shared reading and build a toolbox of quality stories that can be shared within the classroom community.
