Technology is quickly becoming an integral part of every day life, not just for entertainment but as part of furthered education, the workplace, and just about everything that it could possibly be a part of. While many schools across the country are already making huge strides for the idea of 'one to one' technology integration, that is not yet the case everywhere. It is imperative that students feel comfortable with how computers operate as a regular and fully inclusive part of their education from as early of an age as possible. It will never be easier later to try to learn it, and make no mistake, technology and computers will be a part of their life. As an educator, my goal is to make sure that I am using it to show the wealth of information available to them, and how to appropriately maneuver that information. This is perhaps a bit of a pie in the sky wish to get any Chromebooks at all, but I'm hoping that getting a handful that can be a part of my classroom every single day can bridge the gap enough that students have a chance to use online services at least once a week, outside of standardized testing or formal processes. An opportunity to type a paper, do additional research, double check information or further explore their learning.
