Having a classroom rug is essential to my classroom. It is where we start every morning, greeting each other at Morning Meeting. It is also where all lessons across the curriculum (Reading, Math, Writing, Social Studies, and Science) begin and end with the entire class together. I have been teaching, coming up on 24 years, and have never been able to afford a "nice" Lakeshore rug for my students. This rug will provide each student, not only, a comfortable spot on the floor to learn, but their very own spot. The block style of the rug will provide a smoother transition from desk to rug, giving me back more teaching time because students will know exactly where to go, their assigned block! I'm certain that this rug will improve teaching and learning this school year.
