I am a first grade teacher that strives to meet each student's individual needs. Every student has their own learning style that allows them to learn and demonstrate their knowledge to the fullest. In my classroom, I encourage students to spread out around the classroom during independent work time to find a space where they can focus and work to the best of their abilities. For some students, that is at their desk but for many 6-7 year olds that means space to spread out and wiggle when they need to. By providing individual clipboards for each student in my class, I will be able to allow students to work in a space that is comfortable for their own learning style. By giving students the freedom to embrace their own learning styles, I can in turn increase their confidence in their abilities in school and beyond!
