RF.2.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. RF.2.3a Distinguish long and short vowels when reading regularly spelled one-syllable words. These are the MAIN areas that I am interested in helping my students to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have 11 students out of 15 second graders that can not read and that have great difficulty building and blending letter sounds to create words. I feel that if they each had their own set of letters and magnetic boards, we can work together as a group or on a one-to-one level. My students are suffering not only from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the culturally deprived community in which they live. They need your help.
