Classroom libraries extend and reinforce curriculum, foster independent discussions, encourage exploration into unknown genres and areas of high interest. Providing a great selection of books will reflect the importance of literacy in the classroom. My students will use the books during self-selected reading, as research, and class discussions. Most importantly a well equiped classroom library will provide books to those who have none at home. I want to inspire my students to have a love for reading. This year I begin a new "chapter" in my teaching career. The opportunity arose for me to teach at a school that truly believes in the benefits of learning and becoming proficient in both English and Spanish for all students regardless of race. Your support in this project will assist me in creating a diverse Spanish classroom library that will increase literacy skills in all my students. Thank you!
