My students collaborate often in groups for many purposes. It is a good way to work on social skills while discussing educational topics. I try to incorporate a lot of team work for my students so they have some responsibility and accountability for their learning. During reading, we read stories and dive deep into them practicing our comprehension skills. In math, we dissect new processes as groups. In science, we work together to explore new models. Group tables will make working as teams more efficient and make learning more enjoyable. Working as a group with peers helps deepen student understanding. When students hear or see a topic of learning from more than one person, it gives them more ways to tackle new skills.
