My students are scientists that love when they are asked what they think. They enjoy sharing their thoughts and working through information to make sense of things. My students need wirebound notebooks in order to process scientific information in a way that works for them. Every child learns differently. Some enjoy drawing, some enjoy writing out full explanations, and some enjoy creating diagrams or lists. These notebooks will give used to my students the opportunity to excel at Science because they will open up the opportunity to learn in the way that they enjoy. The notebooks will be used to make Interactive Science Notebooks. Each lesson will utilize two pages; an input page and an output page. The input page will be an area for the students to take notes, observations, and any information they find important. The output page will allow students to make sense of the information they recorded. It will be an area where students can draw, write, and brainstorm. It will give them the chance to reach those “AHA” moments by giving them the opportunity to select their own method of output. These Interactive Science Notebooks will strengthen the students’ curiosity and allow them to see the joy of discovery.
