Our classroom is a project-based collaborative learning environment. Each month my students are required to research, draft a proposal, write an essay, and deliver the information to an audience on a topic of their choice during our Genius Hour time block. My role in the classroom is to provide a fair, equitable and authentic learning experience. This means that my students are in control of their learning for a set amount of weekly time. In order to fully function at the standards that are expected, we must have resources- this includes the ability to print on demand. Our classroom is a one-to-one computing classroom. This means that each of my students has a laptop at their disposal throughout our school hours. While we have the ability to research, produce and present information digitally- often times we are unable to print. The purpose of this grant proposal is to fund a classroom high capacity wireless printer that will allow my students to print on demand.
