Our students need greater access to books and literature. We love to read. We need to read. Please help. Reading is such an important part of a child's education. Great books cause us to reflect, to consider universal human struggle, and to understand ourselves and who we are. Reading increases vocabulary. Reading is a vital skill that must be mastered to be successful in all kinds of learning. We do not live in a world where books are commonly found in the home. If my students have no access to books, then they have a disadvantage that will follow them for the remainder of their time as learners and beyond.
