They see it as a game instead of a mandated objective. Students thrive off of using their existing skills in technology to acquire different levels through different mathematical learning sites by building their avatars with the number of points they have earned. Students request to explore new learning sites they have discovered and want to showcase to the class. The ownership they give to their learning shows the eagerness of wanting to learn more.
