The students at Wilson Academy are open-minded young people who deserve every chance at success! Even though over 85% of our students are considered at risk and fall below the poverty line, they come to school every day willing to soak up all the learning they can. Unfortunately, many of our children have learning deficits that restrict them from accessing all the higher level skills required for their grade level. It is common to have students in class that are reading 2+ years below their grade level. These gaps can continue to grow and become an obstacle to their eventual graduation. I want to prevent students from having limited educational and work opportunities in their future. It is so important for these students to know that through education, anything is possible. I want them to achieve their maximum potential!
