When you think of a classroom what do you think of? Rows of desks with students sitting and looking at a teacher? Students bent over books working hard? Kids at their desks working on a project? Or maybe kids on a rug listening to their teacher? Notice a common theme yet? The kids are always sitting... No child is built to sit for hours on end with their only real moments of activity for the day being at PE and recess! Already I've self funded and introduced balance boards and wiggle tools to my classroom. My students LOVE them, they love to have a chance to MOVE as they work and learn. After all, what child doesn't like to move. With your help, I'd like to introduce a set of standing desks as well. We will have a place for students to work, move and learn. Together, we can create a classroom where kids can learn while still being kids.
