Flexible seating allows students to have a choice in where they sit. Many students are active and focus better when they are allowed to move. Allowing students to sit on carpet squares, balance balls, wobble stools, etc. engages them and helps them to focus on the task at hand without worrying about having to stay in their seats. Some students may choose to stay in their seat with a stability band which allows them to move their feet without moving out of their comfort zone. Flexible seating options allow students to choose the best way for them to learn. My goal is to empower my students to choose the best way for their learning style.
