I am requesting 25 stability balls for my very active students. I have taught at my school for 5 years and have noticed a change in the student population. Each year, there has been an increase in students with attention and sensory needs. I have had many students whose academic success has been hindered because they cannot sit still and focus in a traditional chair. Stability balls will help meet my students' attention and sensory needs. Many studies have shown that physical activity enhances students' learning experiences. The stability balls will allow my students to wiggle, bounce, and rock, thus improving their engagement in learning. I feel that providing students with a stability ball as an alternative to a traditional chair will improve my students' achievement both academically and behaviorally.
