Students in District 7 of the Bronx often lack experience and resources to excel in school. The letter carpet will provide daily interactions with the alphabet to build a strong reading foundation. The Dr. Seuss listening set will help students build fluency, phonemic awareness, rhyming, and English language skills. A major unit we study is All About me, students discover internal and external body parts. The apron will provide them with a hands-on experience and visual aid to assist in learning about the internal organs. The People Shapes Project will allow students to demonstrate what they have learned about their body and needs, and I will be able to assess their learning based on their creation and oral dictation.
