I have been teaching in the Hillsborough County School District since 2005. During that time, I have primarily taught remedial reading to those students who struggle with reading comprehension and/or struggle being successful on standardized tests. The school I have been teaching at for the last 10 years has a very diverse population. We are over 80% free and reduced lunch and have students from all different backgrounds. I co-teach with another reading teacher in the same room and together we teach around 150 students each year. Our students need a little extra to help them become better readers, test takers, and have a general love for reading and we strive everyday to provide that for them.
