Hi everybody! Thanks for stopping by! I am so excited to start this adventure here on Donors Choose! I have been determined to help students fulfill their potential. I have dedicated my free time to learning all I can about Special Needs children. I have specifically been studying students with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD). These children are often the silent fighters. These students sometimes look like "bad" kids. The ones who blurt, tip over in their chairs, talk non-stop, don't follow directions, and generally drive the teachers nuts! There is no reason (that we can see or hear..hence the silent fighters) for them to act this way. We just dismiss them as being bad! This is generally furthest from the truth! These little guys need either more stimulation or less stimulation in class. It is important that teachers start to learn and understand these students. That is one of my goals as a teacher!
