I am requesting noise cancelling headphones so they are able to focus. When I am focused on teaching a certain grade level - fourth or fifth grade - the other group of students work independently and they need a way to block out distractions and noises to focus on their task at hand. For instance, when I'm teaching my fourth graders a specific math lesson or pulling groups, my fifth graders are expected to work on their assignment but would get caught up in the discussion from the fourth graders and myself. These headphones will help my students limit distractions so they can succeed in a split class. I tried asking the district for resources like this but was told that there is no funding available to get my students this. So, turning to DonorsChoose is my only other option to get my students what they need.
