The supplies that I'm requesting will allow my students to become better readers through group work. Guided reading groups involve students at a horseshoe table with mentor texts on their reading level. The teacher teaches fluency, word calling skills, and comprehension. My goals for this project are to produce sufficient readers through guided reading groups, teach the skills necessary to the small group of students on their grade level, and provide each student with the opportunity to be the best reader they can be.
