My deepest desire is to teach kids to love reading. However, sitting in a hard chair all day is difficult for many of my students, leading to disruptive behavior. Often simply sitting on the floor, lounging in a beanbag chair, or standing often motivates them to stay on task and complete their work. The dorm chairs and yoga pillows I have selected will allow students to find an area in which they feel they can learn best. Through flexible seating, I hope to increase the amount of time students spend engaged in reading and writing. Allowing students to choose the area in which they work best hands responsibility over to the student, letting them take ownership in their education.
