Help me fill my classroom with diverse books for my students, so that each of them have access to a book they would not normally be able to read and identify with. Diverse books are important for students to feel a sense of identity and value. They are like mirrors allowing the students to see themselves represented in a story and help explore their identity. Diverse books are important to bring visibility to cultures different from their own, as well as create openings for discussions about what's happening in current events. Diverse books also build community unity and inclusivity to our students allowing them to unite despite any of their differences. With a classroom full of inquisitive students who are thirsty for knowledge, reading books today, will make them a leader tomorrow!

About my class
