At Chamberlain Elementary, a school in the EL Education network, students strive to show Habits of Scholarship: Integrity, Compassion, Grit, Courage, and Craftsmanship. Students come from different backgrounds in economics, language, and family design. Despite their differences, they work together to become successful individuals in both academics and character. The achievement gap has grown wider, and we need resources to help these students rise up and close the gap. As EL Education says, "We believe that when a student is done with school and enters adult life, she will be judged for the rest of her life not by her performance on tests of basic skills, but by the quality of her work and the quality of her character. " Given this, students discover how to: find success individually and collaboratively, create high quality work, think critically, and communicate their thinking clearly in a variety of ways.
