"If people are informed they will do the right thing. It's when they are not informed that they become hostages to prejudice." - Charlayne Hunter-Gault. Students want to remain informed about current events from around the world. In order for students to become knowledgeable world citizens, they need reading materials that they can comprehend. TIME for Kids achieves this goal because its target audience is young students. TIME for Kids allows teachers to choose their grade level to receive articles that are on their students’ reading level. TIME for Kids will increase my students’ comprehension and motivation for reading informational text regarding critical issues in their country and the world. Students are visual learners, so the Elmo document camera will allow all students to see steps to solving a math problem as I explain the process or read text along with me during whole group instruction.
