I am requesting a variety of alternate seating options for my math classroom. Students learn best when cooperating and collaborating with each other, not listening to a teacher all day every day! They need places to feel comfortable, to work together, and to support their individual needs for movement and stimulation. Providing mini "learning lounges" with yoga balls, floor mats, and stools will give students the comfortable, collaborative environment that they need to work on projects, "teach" each other, ask questions and discuss problems and solutions. With these seating options available, students will be provided choice for movement throughout the day, week, and/or school year based on their individual needs!
