My students are curious and creative learners from rural West Virginia. Many are from families with low socioeconomic status and they rely on public education as their primary means of support and encouragement. We work hard to overcome many obstacles, including funding, in order to create a positive, student-centered learning environment, where "NO" only stands for "New Opportunity" for success. My students are thinkers, writers, readers, mathematicians, scientists, and artists. They are inquisitive, persistent, and ready to overcome any hurdles that they may face in order to become successful first graders!
