Teaching through the arts can help to present difficult ideas or concepts to students, with the ability to visualize them making them easier to understand. These are just standard materials that a primary class should have, but due to budget restrictions, I cannot always provide. It helps students develop language skills, motor skills, social skills and confidence to engage in the learning that is taking place within the classroom. We will be able to showcase several different entry points into the academics, leaning itself to Howard Gardner's 100 different learners. When we have arts in the classroom, students have the opportunity to shine and to have their work shine in others ways than just reading and writing, which in the primary grades could still be difficult. Art can be intertwined in all the areas of curriculum.
