My students having a bright cheery rug to sit on while being read engaging award winning story books will promote the love of reading for enjoyment as well as strengthening their comprehension skills. Additionally, having a reading rug will also help my students have a designated spot to sit providing proper spacing and avoiding confusion on exactly where to sit while they are participating in a read aloud. The children's books I have selected are amazing, engaging literature my students are certain to love and remember for a lifetime. The books are part of thematic units designed to instructionally engaging.
